Gospel City Hubs

A Vision for a Gospel Saturation Movement

By November 15, 2021 No Comments

We don’t go to church; we are the church. Our goal is not to get people to just come to our church gatherings. Our goal is to remind and equip the Church, God’s people, to be the means through which Jesus makes Himself known in our neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, and in the places we recreate. Abraham Kuyper is famous for saying, “There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: ‘Mine!’”

What if every Christian lived their life like this every day? We would begin to see gospel saturation take place. However, this can’t be done alone. It requires the whole Church in a city or region working together in unity to fully realize this.

Jesus prayed in John 17 for all those who would believe in Him. He asked the Father to make us one just as Jesus and the Father are one so that the world would believe the Father sent the Son. He went on to say that He has given us the glory that the Father gave Him, meaning, we can together, in our unity, be a picture of what God is like. Any division between us displays a false picture of division between the Father and the Son and thus compromises the mission of Jesus.

That is why it is so important that the Church in a city or region is united together on mission to make Jesus known in deed and word where we live, work, learn, and play. Towards that end, Saturate is committed to serving and supporting the formation of Gospel City Hubs where civic, business, and faith leaders collaborate together around five key initiatives:

  1. City-Wide Prayer
  2. Leader Health
  3. Disciple-Making Strategies
  4. Serving the City
  5. Starting New Churches and Kingdom Initiatives

We believe it will take a unified Church working together in all five areas to see a movement of gospel saturation take place in a city or region. Saturate aims to support the formation of these Gospel City Hubs and provide tools to equip people in each of these five initiatives. Already we are seeing several cities in the early stages of collaboration toward gospel saturation.

We created a three-part video series that provides even more information about establishing Gospel City Hubs. Watch the first video here:
