Disciples | We inspire, resource, and encourage everyday disciples in the gospel, community, and mission.

Church Plants  | With the Soma Family of Churches, we provide cohort-based immersive equipping that recruits, assesses, trains, and sends church planting teams to birth missional community shaped churches.

Jeff Vanderstelt

Founder, Chairman of the Board

As the visionary leader of Saturate, the Soma Family of Churches and a teaching pastor at Doxa Church in Bellevue, WA, Jeff Vanderstelt gets to spend his days doing what he loves – training disciples of Jesus to make more disciples of Jesus and equipping the Church in the gospel and missional living. Additionally, Jeff is on the leadership team of Saturate the Sound, a local church collective focused on gospel saturation in the Puget Sound. Jeff has authored Saturate, Gospel Fluency, and Making Space.

Duke Revard

Executive Director

Duke serves a dual role as the Executive Director of both Saturate and the Soma Family of Churches. At Saturate he gives directional leadership and oversees development and implementation of Saturate’s key initiatives. He serves in a similar capacity as the Executive Director of Soma, where he splits his time between leading Soma and walking with leaders and churches as they pursue greater strength, long-term health, and effectiveness in ministry.

Duke lives in Fort Worth, TX with his wife Caroline and his three daughters: Lily, Evangeline, and Isla.

Sara Parker

Travel & Logistics

Sara loves serving alongside of the Saturate team by coordinating the specifics for Jeff’s speaking commitments, and making travel arrangements for him and the team to go and serve wherever God leads. She never gets tired of this unique vantage point for seeing Jesus at work in his Church – our King is alive, and on the move!

Sara loves chasing around her one-year-old son, hanging out with her husband, hiking, drinking coffee, and exploring their new home in the Atlanta, GA area.

Ben Connelly

Director of Training

Ben Connelly is Director of Training for Saturate. After 19 years serving in local churches together, Ben and Jess now get to serve disciple-makers and planter couples across the world, as well as churches/ organizations with a desire for sending. They live in Fort Worth, TX with their three kids, and host short-term foster placements, each on his/her way toward reunification or adoption.

Ben has written/contributed to several books, workbooks, articles, and publications, and has taught university and seminary classes. He serves as an elder in The City Church (Acts29/Soma), which he and Jess planted in 2009, and blogs occasionally at benconnelly.net

Brad Watson

Director of Resources

Brad A. Watson (M.A. in Theology) enjoys encouraging, challenging, and helping followers of Jesus to live on mission in community by helping them connect the gospel with its implications to their daily lives. Locally, Brad serves as an equipping elder of Soma Culver City in Los Angeles, California, where he lives with his wife and their three children. Globally, he has the privilege of coaching and resourcing church leaders on how to form gospel-centered communities that love God and serve their city.

Brad is the author of the Together series of missional books (GCD Books) and co-author of Raised? Finding Jesus by Doubting the Resurrection (Zondervan). Sunee Hillyer

Communications & Fundraising Coordinator

Sunee Hillyer supports the Saturate team in communications and development. After encountering more of Jesus though life in community, on mission, Sunee is excited to help individuals and churches step into the fullness God intends for them as family, servants, and missionaries.

As a recent transplant to Bellevue, WA with her husband, she loves spending her free time exploring the beautiful trails around the Seattle area, trying new recipes, finishing a good book, and gathering people she loves around the table.

David Achata

Director of Coaching

David serves in a volunteer capacity as the Director of the Coaching at Saturate. David has worked in a number of roles including high school teacher, pastor and church planter and brings 20 years of ministry experience. He works as a coach and consultant in the corporate world at Achata Coaching Inc. where he specializes in uniting fractured teams and helping leaders learn to ask instead of tell.

He lives outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee with his wife, Amy and two children, Ana & Isaac. When David isn’t working with leaders, he enjoys riding his mountain bike and writing. Legal Board

Scott Coy

Scott Coy received his Masters of Theology from Dallas Seminary in 1978. He was on staff with Young Life for 17 years, and has also worked in the corporate world for 25 years as an executive in the insurance industry. Scott participated in starting Watermark Community Church in Dallas, TX, served as an elder, and most recently, on staff. He is currently the Executive Director of the Zenas Foundation, a non-profit organization established to serve those in the ministry, and serves part-time as a chaplain to the Veritex Bank Group. Scott has been married to Susan for 38 years. They have two married children with five granddaughters, and reside in Dallas, Texas.

Gord Fleming

C2C Network, National Director of Church Planting

Gord has been involved in church planting for over 14 years. He began by serving on a church planting board while working in the marketplace. In 2006, Gord transitioned from the marketplace to full-time ministry to lead the C2C Network (at the time was known as Church Planting BC). The C2C Network is an MB-based, interdenominational network, committed to making Jesus known across Canada.

Gord and Marcy live in Fort Langley, BC and are part of North Langley Community Church. They have three married daughters and three grandchildren.

Chuck Gschwend

Chuck Gschwend is passionate about enjoying, declaring, and displaying the grace of Jesus. Chuck lives in Jonesboro, Arkansas and is married to Lindy. They have three children: Charlie, Billy and Kate. Locally, Chuck is a part-time attorney, leads a missional community, and is an elder at a Soma church, Fellowship Paragould. Regionally, Chuck serves as a Saturate coach, Regional Co-Leader of Soma Southeast, and is founder of Renewal Coaching. Chuck has also experienced the highs and lows of leading his team to transition their local church to missional communities in 2009.

Jeff Tikson

Jeff has an MBA from the University of Virginia and 30+ years working with nonprofits as a board member, staff person, and consultant. He has also worked with national media companies like Time Life and Doubleday Bookclubs, helping create Christian products for a broader audience.

Today, Jeff focuses on smaller nonprofits that welcome his operational and fundraising experience to help create a more effective, strategic, and financially secure ministry.

Jeff and his wife, Peggy, have been married for 30 years and live in northern Illinois. They have three sons and one daughter-in-law.

Bill Couchenour

Bill Couchenour has a fervent desire to see Gospel saturation locally, regionally and throughout the US. He has served churches across the country for over 30 years. He was the Florida District Manager (12 years) and then the CEO/President (17 years) at Cogun, a company committed exclusively to helping churches develop the right ministry space. During that time he cofounded the Cornerstone Knowledge Network, a group committed to understanding the alignment of culture, leadership, ministry and facilities.

Currently Bill is the Director of Deployment at Exponential where he primarily serves network and denominational leaders of church planting movements with the Exponential resources. He also provides strategic and operational oversight of Exponential’s R&D and expanding educational opportunities. For several years he has facilitated, along with Alan Hirsch, Future Travelers, a learning community designed to create a missional paradigm shift for megachurches and denominations. And, most recently, he facilitated the Radical Multisite learning community with Jim Tomberlin and Wade Burnett.

Bill is a coach and Elder at the Underground Network, a network of micro-churches around the world that is based in Tampa, FL. He has also served in leadership for several other organizations including Youth for Christ, Heartland Christian School and BeTheChangeProject. Bill is the author of the books Churches… Before You Build and Church Building Programs – Why, When & How and coauthor of Unleashed! Finding Epic Adventure in Everyday Life.

Bill is married to Pam, and they have four adult children and three grandchildren.

Executive Pastor of Ministries, The Austin Stone Community Church

Dr. Todd Engstrom is the Executive Pastor of Ministries at The Austin Stone Community Church in Austin, Texas. Additionally, he directs the efforts of The Austin Stone in church planting – training, resourcing and deploying church leaders to glorify God wherever they are. Finally, he regularly speaks, writes and consults with churches on the topics of missional communities and organizational leadership. Gord Fleming

C2C Network, National Director of Church Planting

Amy Lathrop

Director of Operations & Publishing, Co-Founder

Amy serves as the Director of Operations and Publishing. She is part of the Exponential Learning Community for Network Leaders and serves on the leadership team of Saturate the Sound, a local church collective working toward gospel saturation in the Puget Sound region. Amy’s spirit of entrepreneurship has led to successful businesses in retail, catering, and publicity. She and her family live in Seattle where she is enrolled in the Masters of Theology & Culture program at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology.

Dhati Lewis

Lead Pastor, Blueprint Church, Atlanta, GA

Dhati Lewis is the Lead Pastor of Blueprint Church in Atlanta, Georgia and the Executive Director of Community Restoration with the North American Mission Board. He earned his Master of Arts in Cross Cultural Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary and most recently received his Doctorate of Ministry in Great Commission Mobilization from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dhati has seven beautiful children and is married to Angie, a discerning woman who empowers and encourages him to live fully in his identity in Christ. He is the author of both the Bible study and book, Among Wolves: Disciple-Making in the City.

Roger Molvar

Roger is interested in reframing the way people understand and approach everyday life–especially as it relates to the meaning of leadership, ethics, and the common good.
Currently consulting with foundations, corporations, and educational institutions, he is a corporate veteran of the banking and media industries, where he focused on integrating innovation, people, and business strategy.
Roger serves on the board of the Center for Integrity in Business, the Executive Advisory Board for the School of Business, Government and Economics at Seattle Pacific University, and chairs the Executive Committee of the SEC and Financial Reporting Institute at the University of Southern California.
Roger lives in the Seattle area with his wife Char, their two sons, and four grandchildren.

Duke serves as the Director of the Soma Family of Churches. He walks with leaders and churches as they pursue greater strength, long-term health, and effectiveness in ministry. Duke lives in Fort Worth, TX with his wife Caroline and his three daughters: Lily, Evangeline, and Isla.

Ron Sgro

Ron Sgro has been involved with Saturate since its inception. He has also been involved in the healthcare industry for over 38 years. During that time, he has been a manager, consultant, and owner of a number of companies. His most recent venture, Enovate Medical, was sold in 2013 to Riverside Partners of Boston. Ron still maintains an ownership position in the company, sits on the board, and is a consultant to Enovate. Enovate Medical manufactures mobile computing systems for hospitals in the U.S., Europe, and Australia. They have over 3,700 clients that utilize their systems throughout their hospital networks.

Ron also spends a considerable amount of time involved in Christian charitable activities. He either sits on the board or is a board advisor to the following organizations: Reach One Touch One Ministries located in Uganda; Deep Streams Ministries in Buena Vista, Guatemala; Hillcrest Christian Café in Manila, Philippines; and ministries in Honduras. He supports organizations such as World Vision, Smile Train, Flashes of Hope, and Special Olympics. He also sits on the boards of educational organizations such as Ginn Academy of Cleveland and Journey Schools located in Seattle and Austin.

Paul Whaley

Paul is the Founding Pastor of Summit Crossing Community Church. He’s married to Brandi and they have 3 children: Luke, Karsyn, and Jake. He has helped lead the transition of Sc3 Community Groups from being primarily inward-focused to becoming missional communities over the last five to seven years. Outside of leading at Summit Crossing Community Church as the Lead Teaching and Vision Pastor, Paul also serves on the Network Leadership Team for A29 and oversees the Alabama/Tennessee A29 Region.
