Lesson 3: Who We Are and What We Believe
OVERVIEW:
Rather than busying ourselves with “discipleship activity,” disciples’ lives are more about who we are (our identity) and what we believe. In this lesson, Jeff asks four questions that display what we believe about God and ourselves. These can be applied to every situation in our lives and any passage of Scripture, as disciples grow in worshipping and obeying Jesus together.

REFLECT:
- Where have you been looking to your own behavior, or someone else’s perspective of you, to define you and your discipleship?
- In what ways do you, and those in your community, have a hard time trusting that God, His Word, and His work, are sufficient to define you? How can you remind each other of that truth?
- Read Romans 1:16-17. What does “living by faith” mean? How would rightly-defined identity and beliefs change how we could live today?
