Lesson 4: Discipleship in Everyday Rhythms, Part 3

OVERVIEW:

In this lesson, Jeff looks at two more everyday rhythms and asks how our celebrations, creativity, and even our rest can reflect unique aspects of God and be helpful for everyday discipleship, in our own hearts and in the lives of our friends, family, and neighbors.

REFLECT:

  • What are some things you celebrate (or how could you celebrate things better)? How could your celebrations be turned to make God the centerpiece of those celebrations?
  • To be a true rhythm, each element Jeff described requires two “sides”: If celebrating is one side of a rhythm, grief and mourning might be the other. If rest and recreation are one side of a rhythm, work might be the other. How are both sides of both rhythms necessary and impactful in life-on-life discipleship as well?
  • What could it look like to celebrate and rest/recreate well, alone and also with other believers? What could it look like with those in your mission field?
