Lesson 2: Living on Mission, Together

In Acts 17, we see specific cultural elements of Athens that the Apostle Paul learned as he tried to make disciples in that city. His intentionality opened doors for him to display and declare the gospel. This lesson considers three interrelated elements of mission: a clearly defined mission, a commitment to reorienting our lives around that mission, and displaying and declaring the gospel in community together.

  • What are some of the “people groups” that God might be calling you to shape your community’s life around?
  • What are some things you could commit to doing as you adjust your life to reach that mission field?
  • What are some of the likely “barriers” to the gospel in your mission field, and what might be some “open doors” for the gospel to sound like good news?
