Lesson 4: Nurture

In this lesson, Abe explains the second of three elements of a DNA group: the goal of “nurture” is to shepherd the heart through regular repentance and belief in the gospel. He encourages us to listen for the heart, ask good questions, and speak the truth in love.

  • Why are repentance and belief such crucial parts of discipleship? (This may sound like an obvious question, but spend time thoughtfully answering it.)
  • Have you historically viewed Christian maturity more about belief or action? How can you increasingly develop a heart-centered approach to Christian maturity?
  • How might this step in the DNA process help a community on mission be more effective at making disciples?
