OVERVIEW:

In this lesson, we look at words, actions, and methods that are common to parents, which can minimize our kids’ understanding of the gospel or even work against applying it. REFLECT:

  • In your own upbringing, how did you experience abdication or shame? How did you experience pursuit and shamelessness?
  • What are some scenarios or moments in your own parenting that you’re tempted to use abdication or shame, and how did this lesson speak to that tendency?
  • What would it look like for God’s good work toward you in Christ to impact your responses to your children?
