Through his role at Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission, Chris has had an amazing opportunity to work with leaders around the greater Seattle area. He founded Light up the City (LUTC) in 2014, a regional network of 20 local city-centered gospel movements (Over 200 congregations). LUTC encouraged the gathering of leaders to pray together over their city while using the concept of multiplication to take the expertise and vision of the Mission to help local congregations engage those-in-need in their own cities.
Many projects, orgs, and initiatives have launched through our ability to cast vision, assess communities, network, encourage, and spur on the greater Body of Christ. LUTC launched the Foster Support Faith Alliance, a network of congregations (65+) who have adopted all local DCYF offices in the last 18 months. We launched a church-school partnership network with over 60 partnerships; and helped to launch a discipleship program called Saturate the Sound with 100 partnering congregations.
God continues to lead Chris and his family forward in this work. His partnership with Saturate has become a critical foundation, and a broader scope as Chris leverages his unique ability to equip and encourage local church communities and leaders to leverage their relationships to impact their local communities. As the Father pours his love into the hearts of believers (Rom. 5:5), we are able to love our neighbor in transformative and powerful ways.
Saturate the Sound is expanding this work from King County to the entire Puget Sound! Chris is connected to 55 networks and is excited to see what God will do through this work. His two main areas of responsibility will be regional common good initiatives (Homelessness, Schools, and Foster Care to start), and starting or supporting city-based prayer networks.
Please consider joining with Chris in this work, by joining his prayer team, making a donation to fund this work, or connecting with your local city gospel movement!
